After the reveal, here's the game in action. Today we're publishing the first gameplay video of Eddie Von Walt and the Infinite Bulb, the hands-only VR roguelike for Meta Quest.
First you serve, then you survive
Every night at Volt & Vodka starts calm: thirsty customers walk in, each with an order floating above their head, a beer or a vodka. Pour the right one and rest it on the coaster in front of them, and they might pay you back with a few tokens, a stroke of luck, or nothing at all. Sometimes they bring trouble.
Then lightning strikes. The alarm blares, red emergency lights pulse, the power cuts out in stutters and the wave arrives. From that moment, the bottles and glasses on your counter are your only weapons.
The length of each phase changes every night, and sometimes the wave comes before the service: no two runs play the same.
What's new
- Service phase with thirsty customers, their patience and the tokens they leave as tips
- A wave alarm: a 16-bit siren, red emergency lights and stuttering blackouts, to make the tension felt
- Grab with a pinch or your whole fist, like in real life, and switch between them while holding an object
- Height calibration inside the bar: from the settings you step into the place and adjust the counter while looking at it
- A pause button and menus as objects in the bar, no panels floating in mid-air
- Soundtrack for the menu and for the game
Where we are
It's still a prototype, and I'm building it update after update, testing every change on the headset. There's no release date or price yet, and when there are, you'll find them here and on the game's page.
If you'd like to follow the build, you can leave your email on the game's page: I'll let you know when the first playtest opens.
